The Best Mp3 Players Available!

Wednesday, October 29, 2008

I don't know about you but, I never really got into the whole iPod deal. I never really understood what the big deal was between an Apple iPod or an Mp3 player, I mean really what is the difference! I see none where I'm standing! I had a friend a few months that got one of those really tiny Apple iPods, ya it held like 500 songs but the buttons were so small you had to tap the keys with the tip of a pen to switch songs, or turn up the volume! I mean, was that the allure? Because it's small and it fits in your pocket? Weird. What I did get into though was Mp3 players, these are nicer, badder, and more awesome than those puny iPods! And you don't need a pen tip to change the song either! Personally I bought a Cowon D2, it got terrific reviews, its sleek, it fits in my pocket, I can put thousands of songs on it, the quality is outstanding and I have been happy with it ever since I got it!

Another terrific Mp3 player, however, is one called Arcos 500951 605, this one has a nice big screen so you don't have to squint in order to watch the movies you put on the player, crystal clear screen it actually has the highest screen Resolution (800x480) and the highest quality screen in a Portable Media Player (PMP). Use the touch-screen to easily operate the device with your finger or stylus. Fabulous sound and it's huge, you can upload 40,000 photos, 2,000 songs or 5 movies or a little bit of everything. And lastly? The price? It's the ultimate package for less than $200. Awesome!

A second one I had heard a lot of great things about was called Philips GoGear SA9200 2GB. This one is quite simple but it still does what its supposed to and it does it well! Enjoy total control of your music and photos instantly, thanks to a super-smart, super-responsive menu. Switch on your GoGear and marvel at how it comes to life to reveal a vibrant, full-colored LCD. 2 GB capacity for up to 1,000 songs or up to 500 pictures, So i'ts not as large as the Cowon or the Arcos but remember you CAN delete and add new songs/pictures to your player, and you can do it quite easily.

And lastly here is one I bought for my mom its called the Virtual Touch VT-2, it''s a touch screen media player. But the reason I got this for my mom was because she doesn't have young eyes like she used to (sorry mom) so she either has to put her glasses on or squint. She loves watching movies so I figured hey, I may as well get her one of these as a surprise. It's big enough for her space wise at 2GB it holds about two movies (4 hours altogether) and the screen is 3 inches and has a nice resolution as well. She loves it, I love it, she loves me. Hey what else could I ask for!

Of course there are 5 zillion other ones out there including the puny Apple iPods but these are ones I have either heard rave reviews about or that I have had personal experience with. Good luck in your search for the perfect Mp3 player!

Ways To Use Twitter On Your iPhone

iPhone, Smartphones, PDA Phones, and Ways to use Twitter on your iPhone

Twitter is a free
social networking site that has a micro-blogging service that allows
users to send updates through their phones. But only the Apple iPhone
gives the best user experience on using the site. There are a lot of
social networking sites out there. And you can access those sites on
your iPhone since your iPhone has an awesome Internet capabilities.
But the best social networking site that you can control on your
iPhone is Twitter. Twitter is also the best site for you to stay
connected with your friends and other connections around the world.

In case you are
hooked to the fast-paced social network then you will be happy to
know that there are various ways to use Twitter on your iPhone.

The
most convenient and easiest way to use Twitter on your iPhone is
through text messaging. To do this, simply type a short message
through your SMS screen and send it to a specific number that Twitter
has generated for you. But before you can send your update through
text messaging, you have to verify your phone number first on
Twitter's website. In this case, you have to select your mobile as a
device and register your mobile number. As soon as your number is
verified, you can immediately start sending updates to the people no
matter who and where they are.

You can also use Twitter on
your iPhone by using your phones Internet Browse. Twitter has a
special website that was specifically designed to be used on your
cell phone. Since you can always have access to the Internet on your
iPhone, going to this special website is so easy. Simply go to
Twitter mobile website: http://m.twitter.com/, log-in to your
account, then send updates whether you are in a salon, sitting in
class or in a train. Aside from updating your account, you can also
view your friends tweet and do everything else that you normally
would on a PC. Using Twitter on your iPhone is really a great way to
kill time.

Sending an update through an email is also
possible. This is another great way to use Twitter on your iPhone is
through e-mail. To be able to send an update through your iPhone's
email client, you have to get your Twitter's e-mail address from a
website called TwitterMail.com. On the site, your Twitter username
and password will be asked, just supply it then the site will
generate an email address for you. After that, save the email address
to your contact, and just send an update whenever you want. Use your
iPhone's email client to write your update to the body, not on the
subject line, then send. That update will be automatically posted to
your Twitter page.

A
web-based Twitter client is also available for iPhone users.
PocketTweets
and Hahlo 1.0 are some of these web-based clients that provides
iPhone users a better experience on Tweeting. Using PocketTweets and
Halo, you can see the latest tweets from the people you are
following, update your status remotely, or see what's happening
around the world using either AT&T's Edge network or over Wi-Fi.

The
fastest way to get connected to your family

, friends and colleagues
is through your phone. Especially now that people are busier. Having
the ability to connect by just tapping and more tapping is a big
help.

Reasons Not to Own an Apple iPhone

Tuesday, October 21, 2008

Smartphones, PDA Phones, and the Apple iPhone

I know that some of
you are undecided about whether you will order an iPhone or not. In
this post, I will state some reasons why you shouldn’t own one.

You may already have
identified the high price, ($199-$299) as a good reason against doing
so. Or, you may be on another carrier’s plan and don’t want to
pay the um, substantial penalty for early withdrawal just to sign a
two-year with iPhone’s exclusive carrier AT&T Mobility. But
after buying one... I’ve identified more reasons not to own an
Apple iPhone. Apple has done a great job telling the entire world how
good it is to own an iPhone. Oh, they are even more good on
concealing the iPhone flaws. If you think that the Apple iPhone is a
must have item of this year or next... think again! Better ask...
does the Apple iPhone really live up to the hype?It is crystal clear
that the new Apple iPhone is a groundbreaking phone... With its
unbelievably easy-to-use touchscreen interface... amazing video
playback... big, bright, high contrast, high-resolution display and a
web browser that is as good as if you are using your laptop or any
computer. Definitely! There's a lot to love and brag about the
iPhone!

But
as I've said... I've identified more big disappointments with the new
Apple iPhone too. Some of them are stubborn commercial decisions
Apple has made; others look like oversights, and others are
fundamental flaws in the design of the phone itself. Now, are you
ready for a dose of tech-flavored conscience? Here are more reasons
not to own an iPhone.

Internet
access. Although the Apple iPhone is labeled as having the most
amazing Internet capabilities, there are many shortcomings to its
browser. Web browsing is relatively slow! The Internet supposed to
give reliable and fast research results... but how can someone do
a“quick” probe on the Internet when the browser's search
capabilities are severely lacking. This really makes finding what you
want on the Internet difficult and time consuming.

Non user-replaceable
battery. It's a sad fact about rechargeable batteries, the first time
you recharge them, their maximum capacity degrades. After a few
hundred recharges, their capacity is down to something like half
their original capacity. Normally, this is annoying, but manageable —
you just swap the battery out for a new one, or get a second battery
and swap the two until the first battery is toast. Not so with the
iPhone. Its battery is sealed up tightly inside the
nearly-impossible-to-pry-open casing. Apple decided that soldering
the battery to the unit was preferable than offering a proprietary
battery or any standard cell phone battery. Busted battery means
buying a new Apple iPhone and that means more money for the Apple
company. Apple made no effort to make this common knowledge, which is
why many users did not realize this as a disadvantage.

No cut and paste.
This one is truly hard to understand. Apple brings out one of the
world's most advanced smartphones in terms of user interface, and
somehow forgets to put in cut and paste... probably the only
smartphone that doesn't have it.

Memory.
You only have the choice to purchase an 8 GB or 16 GB iPhone. This
is really a mind boggling situation... how can Apple brag about the
iPhone that it has a 3.5-inch screen where you can watch movies and
also has great external speakers but you cannot load it up with all
your favorite movie clips and sound? When you use up all of your
available space on the iPhone, your options are to delete or transfer
old content to another device like your PC or Mac. Pretty obvious...
iPhone's limited storage capacity is part of the Apple's marketing
strategy. Urging people to buy a separate MP3 player, such as...
what else.. the iPod.

And
my last reason and of course not the least... the service provider.
You are limited to AT&T's cell phone service packages for the
iPhone if you wish to use it. These packages are expensive as they
all include data and Internet. AT&T has no incentive to change
their iPhone service pricing because they have exclusive rights to
provide service to the iPhones. This has led to a great number of
hacked iPhones on the market that can be used on other networks. As
long as Apple and AT&T's agreement stays exclusive... hackers
will always be around.

You
definitely noticed that the iPhone's advertising is geared toward
teens and young adults, come on... does a teenager really need a $300
phone?

I
also have come to realize that the new iPhone is not a feature
leader. The touch screen and interface are impressive achievements,
but when it comes to features, the iPhone isn't a leader. What's
missing? Again, support for additional flash memory; stereo Bluetooth
support; video recording; and the fundamental and a must have
ability of any PDA phones - to cut and paste text. Also, Its
2-megapixel camera doesn't even have a flash!

Granted
there's more going for the new Apple iPhone than just the phone
itself. But given the reasons not to own an iPhone in this article, I
still can't see why people would rush out to buy an iPhone. If you
already own a smartphone and happy with its features and applications
just ignore the hype, skip the long lines

, and enjoy the day!

Troubleshooting Your iPhone When Application Crashes

Sunday, October 19, 2008

The most common iPhone crash is one where the application you are working in suddenly ceases operation, the screen momentarily turns black, then the iPhone home screen appears. In a slightly more serious manifestation, the crash will result in a complete freeze where the iPhone is unresponsive. Your initial reaction could be... simply yank the battery to cut the power and reset the phone, but there is no batter! But let me remind you that before you do anything to your iPhone, finding out what causes the problem is necessary.

Crashes are most likely to occur when loading graphics-heavy pages, or those with large (in terms of file size) images or music. The Apple has some sort of a contingency in place for lock-ups or a frozen iPhone. Here are the safest ways to troubleshoot your iPhone when an application crashes.

The very first thing to do is to make sure that your iPhone is fully charged. You can charge your iPhone by using your iPhone AC adapter or with a high-powered USB port. Make sure that the USB port is high-powered, otherwise your iPhone will not charge. Your keyboard USB port is an example of a low powered port. If you see the red part of the battery image flash three times and then the screen goes black, this means that that the iPhone is not charging.

Restarting your iPhone is also a safe way to troubleshoot your iPhone. The iPhone is essentially a small computer and just like a regular computer, sometimes programs freeze and keep you from using the phone for anything else. In this situation, it’s easy to quit that program. Simply hold down the Home button at the bottom center of the phone for at least six seconds. This should quit the program and return you to the Home screen.
Once that’s done... restart the phone. To restart your iPhone, hold down the sleep/wake button at the top right-hand corner of the iPhone for 10 seconds. This will bring up a screen asking you to run the slider across the screen to turn the phone off. When you slide the slider to the right, a progress wheel will appear and in a second or two, the iPhone will be off. To turn it back on again, just hold down the sleep/wake button until the Apple icon appears on the screen and then wait for the phone to start up.

To reset your iPhone is also a good way to fix a frozen iPhone. This solution fixed my iPhone. Resetting an iPhone is nothing more than a hard reset or a forced reboot. You're simply cutting the power and making it reboot. To do this, hold the sleep/wake button and Home buttons simultaneously for a few second. The display will quickly wipe itself and you should see the black background and white Apple logo, signifying a reset well done.

Another factor that causes your iPhone to freeze is the content. This will require more than a restart, you need to remove the content that is not properly synced. It could be your contacts, calendars, songs, photos, videos, or podcasts. To do this, go to iTunes, select Preferences from the File menu, then iPhone and delete your backed up iPhone settings — this includes text messages, notes, call history, contact favorites, sound settings, widget settings. Again, one or more of these content might be problematic.

You may also try to reset the settings of your iPhone. Go to the Settings application, tap General then select the Erase All Content and Settings. This will delete all media and data on the iPhone, as well as recent calls, etc., and all other settings.

Restoring your iPhone might be your last resort. To do this, use the latest version of iTunes, then connect your iPhone. When it appears in the Source list, click on Restore in the Summary tab. This will also wipe the iPhone and all your information on it.

As I've mentioned, resetting my iPhone fixed my issue and I’m even jamming with my iPhone now as I write this. There are lots of ways to fix a frozen iPhone and troubleshooting your iPhone is so easy. Also, remember that you can send a crash report to Apple when your iPhone is connected … providing the crash report will enable the iPhone software team to have valuable data that might be rolled into a future update.

The Apple iPhone - Super Phone Or Super Hype?

The Apple iPhone, super phone or super hype? Is this cell phone really the complete package that Apple purports it to be or is it all hype? Let us take a look at the facts and fiction about the Apple iPhone to see how it really stacks up against the advertising.

Ease of use, this is what Apple shows in all of its advertising. On this point, they hit it dead on. The Apple iPhone is extremely easy to use. If you can tap something with your finger or slide your finger along a screen you can use the iPhone without difficulty. For ease of use, the iPhone is a super phone.

Music listening and storage. As far as sound quality goes, the iPhone is great. A set of good quality stereo earbuds are required to enjoy the iPhone's sound quality. To complete the upscale look of the iPhone, perhaps a set of Bluetooth stereo earphones are in orders. In the category of sound quality and music playback capability, the iPhone is a super phone.

Storage is another feature that Apple hypes the iPhone. With 6 GB, 8 GB, and now 16 GB, this seems like a tremendous amount of storage. Here is where the downfall is, you cannot upgrade the memory or use external memory such as memory cards or sticks. Therefore you are limited by the amount of content you can have on your iPhone. You cannot take content with you. A work around could be to store content on an internet site and swap it out when you want it. Any teenager I know can blow through even 16 GB of music in an amazingly short amount of time. If you add in videos and TV shows, 16 GB becomes filled rather quickly. In the storage department, the Apple iPhone becomes hype instead of a super phone.

What about battery life. Here is where there is no hype at all: actually Apple has very little to say about the iPhone's battery. Here is why. You cannot change it. Most cell phones have a removable battery. This way if it dies, you change it out with a new one. The iPhone lacks this capability. Once that battery dies and will no longer hold a charge, you need a new phone. The reason Apple is so quite about the battery is probably due to the current litigation surrounding this. Is this hype or super phone? Neither one. The battery issue definitely does not qualify it as a super phone. Apple has said very little so there really is no hype involved. Perhaps we should just categorize this as buyer beware.

What about that touch screen? This is where you see the Apple iPhone hyped to the max. Is this super phone or hype? The touch screen is super sensitive. If your phone hits up against something in your pocketbook, or knocks into something while you are getting in and out of your car, you can end up calling people or having your iPhone do something weird. The touch screen does allow you to easily manipulate the iPhone. Overall, the touch screen ranks it as super phone not hype. Just be careful with it.

Next there is internet access. All of the commercials for the Apple iPhone show it as a super phone when it comes to internet access. You can use any WiFi to contact friends on Facebook or watch content on YouTube. Well, the browser needs better search capabilities. This is one area where the iPhone is lacking. Another is that the iPhone's browser does not store password. This was most likely a security feature that Apple built in. Personally, you are better off it does not store your passwords. In general WiFi networks are not secure, and you do not want your banking access information readily available to the public. Is this super phone or hyper. I will give them super phone on this one although it is not any different than any other smart phone out there.

The Apple iPhone, super phone or hype? It is looking like it comes out as a super phone. Especially if you want the music and internet capabilities.

The MP3 Player; Bringing Music To The Masses

The MP3 or digital audio player has been with us for some time and can now be considered the most convenient and portable method of carrying music around with us. Before the development of the MP3 file format and subsequently a player for this format the most common form of digital music device was the personal CD player, however this had serious limitations, particularly in terms of size where it was restricted to the proportions of the CD.

Attempts were made to introduce a smaller device, taking the form of the Mini Disc player although its use was limited and it did not become as popular as the CD. Today, there is an MP3 player in nearly every home in the modern world; in addition they have been incorporated into mobile phones for ultimate convenience. But what is the history of this little device?

The first digital audio player or DAP was produced as recently as 1997 by a company named Sae Han Information Systems, it was marketed as the MPMan by this South Korean company throughout 1998. It utilised a flash based memory but could only hold a paltry sixteen megabytes of data. The size restrictions of this inaugural device led to the development of a player with a hard drive. Compaq conducted the initial foray and with the cooperation of HanGo Electronics released the PJB-100 (Personal Jukebox), a device that could hold almost 4.8 GB of date, equating to over a thousand songs.

It was from this point onwards that a device was released that would not only revolutionise the design of MP3 players but design in other fields. This was the first generation of Apple's iPod. In the beginning it was the Macintosh fraternity who used the device but thanks to a simplistic interface and minimalistic styling it soon gained acclaim and grew in popularity. The second generation iPod was a revelation and was now compatible with Microsoft PCs and hence users now had more freedom to transfer their MP3 tracks. Many other manufacturers also got into the act and released players that were similar in function, if not in form to the iPod.

Fundamentally there are two main types of MP3 players on the market today, these are flash and hard-drive based. Flash players have no mechanical parts an instead hold the musical information on a flash memory that is either built into the device or is on a memory card. While in the early years of DAPs flash devices were seen as the more restricted of the two variants, modem technological advancements however have meant that flash players can hold up to around 32 GB. The benefits of flash MP3 players is that they have no moving parts and are hence less susceptible to failure as well as using less power.

Hard drive MP3 players differ from flash variants in the way that they have a mechanical drive that stores the data. The HDD is read by the device to access the music and because the data is stored mechanically they are able to hold larger amounts of data. In some cases hard drive players can hold as much as 250 GB of data; the benefit is that the user is able to carry their entire music collection wherever they go with ease.

Today the MP3 player is one of the most noticeable forms of technology that we see everyday. On the streets, on the plane, train or bus there is almost guaranteed to be someone listening to a DAP, by reducing the size of the personal music player through advances in data retention technology it has been possible to bring portable music to the masses.

CECT XPhone Cell Phone - This Colorful iPhone Clone is Smaller, Sleeker and Has Shake Control

Monday, October 13, 2008

There's no shortage of the newer, smaller, and thinner iPhone clones that have come onto the market.  Models like the LH01, the P168S, and i9 are often smaller and sleeker than their previous full sized counter parts. Recently, a new one has come onto the scene.  It's called the X phone and it's more colorful, lighter and smaller than any clone you may have previously seen.  I will discuss some of the features contained in this new X model in this article.

In Comparison To Others, It's Teeny Tiny.  Some Might Call It A Mini Clone: The XPhone is among the smallest knock offs on the market.  It only weighs 85 grams and measures 108  X 59 X 14MM. Now, if you input a lot of data (particularly text) and you have large hands, this small size pose somewhat of a challenge at times.  However, if you don't do a lot of texting or input (or if your hands or normal sized) you should be fine.  Consumers seem to prefer these smaller, lighter models as many of the new releases are becoming tinier all the time.

Dual Sim, Tri Band, And Everything Else: The XPhone is a tri band, which means that it works just about everywhere except in places that may use the 850MHZ band (there are not many, but you should check with your carrier if you have doubts.) There is no software associated with this.  You just insert your sim card and the phone will read them. Speaking of the cards, this phone can accommodate two (dual sim).  So, you can have two phone numbers or plans.  The phones works fine if you're only using one, but many people find this to be a very useful feature because it means that you aren't missing calls when online.

Additionally, this phone has all of the standard features we now expect, including Bluetooth, MP3 / MP4, FM radio, handwriting recognition, digital camera  and a web cam, as well as the ability to browse the web, email, etc. This phone supports GPRS, WAP, SMS, and MMS.

Shake Control, Shake To The Music, Tilt The Picture, Etc.: The X Phone has the "shake control" feature which, although it's called by many different names,  has really begun to become main stream.  This used to only be on a few models like A88, A380i and HiPhone, but now many new models are beginning to include this one.  It allows you to advance music and media by only shaking the phone forward.  You can do the same with wallpaper, photos, and video.  Also, the phone will right itself and take the photo from portrait to landscape no matter which way you tilt it.

Cool Colors: Other than the size, the most notable thing about this phone is the choice of colors.  It comes in gold, blue, red, silver and black.  Gold is very popular.

Pricing: The cost of these phones is all over the place right now. I've seen them as low as $110 and as high as $180.  I suspect this will stabilize after the newness of this model wears off a bit.

A Quick Overview of the IPhone

Sunday, October 12, 2008

Apple knew what it was doing when it created the iPhone. The device is one of the most stunningly beautiful phone / PDAs on the market and certainly the envy of those who don't have one. One of the biggest features of the iPhone is how easy and simple it is to use. Anyone who picks one up can intuitively figure out how to use its features ... finding contacts, photos downloading games and more. I'll go over a quick overview of the iPhone and some of its unique features.

There are so many unique feature of the Apple iPhone. In fact, if I were to go through them all, it would fill up a book. For example, some of the applications that come loaded on the Apple iPhone include stock updates, weather forecasts, a calculator that has a dual mode: basic and scientific, a calendaring system, phone dialer and more. There are so many basic applications that come with the Apple iPhone, it's hard to imagine wanting any more.

That's where the Apple iPhone begins to really shine. Imagine having a computer software store right at your fingertips. You can literally pick out software that you'd like to use, download it immediately and put it to use. Did I say free? Many of these applications, believe it or not are free! Not just cheap thrill games, but also some great productivity tools also, like sales management tools, customer contact, etc.

More on the overview of the iPhone ... making a call is a snap. You basically press the talk button and you are instantly provided a dial pad or you can switch to your contact list and the touch of a button. In addition, you can also click put a list of favorites right at your fingertips for easy recall ... especially useful if you have 100s or thousands of contacts, like I do.

The iPhone also easily allows you to merge calls if you want to talk to two people at a time or swap calls if you happened to have two people on the line. The merge and swap buttons are very prominent on the dial display. Merge is especially useful if you want to have both parties on for a conference call.

To make your calling safe, the IPhone also has Bluetooth capability. In fact, the Bluetooth feature is very easy to set up and use. Simply put it into to search mode and pair any Bluetooth headset or speaker phone.

Now, let's talk about some of the cool features of the Apple iPhone. There is a 2.0 Megapixel camera on the phone. By most standards, it's a pretty decent camera. In fact, in good lighting the photos come out pretty nicely. I've even tried a few pictures at night and have found them to be quite decent. The additional beauty, though, of the photo application, is loading it up with photos that you've taken with your own point and shoot or digital SLR. The 320 x 320 screen really shines with gorgeous details on photos.

One other neat feature of the Apple iPhone is its direct link into YouTube. You can basically press the YouTube button on the Apple iPhone and up will pop the YouTube videos, assuming of course that you are connected to the Internet.

As I mentioned, there are so many features on the Apple iPhone that it would take up a whole book. For now, go out and get yourself one!

David Chan shares his first hand experience working on the iPhone and the quick overview of the iphone. The Apple iPhone is one of the coolest Phone PDAs on the market. Here is a quick overview of some of its great features. Find out more about how to best use the iPhone and even how to win one for free at http://everypathnbeyond.com/

Getting the Most Out of Your Ipod

Ipod is an immensely popular lifestyle mobile gadget. It's not only visually attractive on the outside, it's also attractive on the inside. What makes it so attractive on the inside is its ability to allow the owner to download and store many useful digital files such as games, music, applications, videos, and more. It's the ultimate all in one lifestyle gadget.

To iPod fans, it's obvious that having a visually attractive exterior simply isn't enough. Without killer content and applications, it's all for nothing. Fortunately, iPod owners can easily download a wide variety of content into their iPods. In a few days, any new iPod owner can personalize his or her own iPod in such a way that the gadget almost seems to take on the personality of its owner.

For example, an iPod owner looking for entertainment may download the latest hip hop songs into his iPod. Or an avid movie goer may download iPod movies. There are even special software such as DVD to iPod converters or iPod video converters that are readily available to convert videos into the right format for playback on iPod.

There are many ways to load content into an iPod. You can download content directly from websites, or convert your offline content to iPod compatible content by using special software. But the most popular way is to download content using Peer-to-Peer (P2P) software. This requires downloading and installing a simple application.

When the application is installed, the user may then share files freely with literally thousands of other users online. That means you can search for, and download any files you want, as long as these files are shared by other users. In return, you may choose to share your own files with other users by allowing them to download files from your hard drive. This allows popular music and video files to spread very rapidly among the communities.

But when downloading content for your iPod on a P2P network, always be cautious of the files that you have downloaded for security reasons. Always have an anti virus installed on your system that protects you from viruses. If not, scan the files individually to make sure that they are safe before running the files. It is not uncommon for pranksters to share virus infested files with well disguised filenames.

Finally, bear in mind that your original iPod may not run some applications that are available for download on the Internet. That is caused by the manufacturer's firmware. But that can be easily overcome by installing some special software. This is commonly known as "jail breaking". You can easily search for more information by entering those terms as keywords in one of the major search engines. You should be able to find many different websites giving you instructions on how to "jail break" your iPod.

Once your firmware has been modified, you are free to download virtually unlimited games and applications and they will run smoothly on your iPod. Note that jail breaking your iPod for personal use is completely legal. The hardware belongs to you, and you are free to do what you want to do with it.

You can now get the most out of your iPod. Enjoy the free content and games!

Mp3 Players: Hear the Difference

MP3 players are portable media players to listen to your favourite music, store video files and images. Without question the most famous one is the Apple iPod but other brands are catching up quickly with the technology and features.

The development started with portable cassette players followed by CD players and finally Mini Disc players. However, the devices were not able to store music in digital files and relied on external storage drives. As they were much bigger than today’s MP3 players and had a limited functionality their use wasn’t as handy and the audio quality often suffered from movements. Consequently, portable audio devices were not best for outside activities, running and exercising in those days.

This all changed in 2001 when Apple released the first iPod with 5GB storage for more than 1000 songs in the new mp3 format. Supported by iTunes and thanks to the small size and huge storage capacity, the iPod is still the most popular MP3 player on the market. According to recent surveys it is not only the best selling MP3 player but also has almost no substitute product.

Today, the Apple product range comprises the iPod classic, iPod nano, iPod shuffle and the latest iPod touch as well as the iPhone. These small portable MP3 players can play audio files like mp3 and others but also display images and play videos. Recent models also support the new MPEG-4 format.

In a nutshell, the Apple iPod provides an all-around solution for portable audio. The Apple software iTunes can be regarded as the most popular programme for organising and storing music and other audio and video files. Whereas it was previously only available for Apple computers like the Mac, it can now be downloaded by everyone. It offers the user the benefit of automatically updating the iPod as soon as it is connected to the computer. This makes it easier to organise the music library and saves a lot of time, too.

Even though other manufacturers like Sony and Samsung try to gain some market share, the iPod is still the outstanding market leader due to Apple’s innovation focus this is unlikely to change in the near future.

MP3 players are becoming increasingly popular as many are seeing the advantage of having a MP3 player that fits perfectly in your pocket with all your favourite songs on. With the iPod and many more available, shop online to find the best deals.

Treo Smartphone vs IPhone - The Winner Will Surprise You

The iPhone 3G vs. Palm's Treo Smartphone. How Do The Screen and Application Download Stack Up?

I've been a Palm Treo Smartphone fan ever since the Treo 600 was introduced about 5 years ago. Who could have imagined the power in one's hands of a device that could do email, show photos, and add cool applications just by synching to your PC.

I primarily used productivity apps, like mortgage calculators, Powerpoint, Excel viewers and security software. But, I was also so enamored with the utility of the device that I added things like SplashPhoto to view photos of my family and friends ... all on that gorgeous 240 x 240 screen!

I upgraded to each new release of the Treo ... from the 600 to the 650 and then the 700p. I even got my friends to buy a Treo. When Apple released its first iPhone, I scoffed at my buddies who bought it. I told them that it was a mere toy and not a real productivity device, even though it was also a bluetooth smartphone, like my Treo.

I was determined to stick by my Treo, not just because it was a great productivity device, but also because I had spent so much money on Palm applications ... viewers, presentation software, and utilities.

Then the fateful day, July 11, 2008 arrived ... a day that will live in infamy in my life. Apple launched the iPhone 3G. What was sorely lacking in the 2G version was now available in abundance on the 3G ... 3G connectivity for fast Internet access when not using WIFI and an application download store to make any geek happy.

I stood in line that day to get one of the first 3G phones. I got the white one, mind you. After playing with it for the last 3 months, I must say it is an incredibly fun device. Did I say gorgeous 240 x 240 screen on my Treo 700p? Try 320 x 480 for the iPhone. Photos are stunning and video is engaging to say the least.

There are so many cool things that you can do with your iPhone ... things that you could only drool over in anticipation on the Treo. Consider again, the screen size. I had subscribed to the "all you can eat Internet" on Sprint. I was a proud Treo Internet surfer. But surfing on a 240 x 240 screen is nowhere near as exciting as it is on a 320 x 480 screen.

In fact, the one of the nicest features of the iPhone is its ability to zoon in on the website and / or photo and keep the "text crispness" of the original site. So "what you see is what you get" on the Treo pales in comparison to the iPhone's "what you want is what you see."

This is just the beginning of the battle of "PDA" devices. Clearly, Apple did its homework to hit a sweet spot for users like me who want a device that's part way and ALL play.

There are so many other comparisons both pros and cons between the two devices. For this article, one point goes to Apple.

David Chan shares his first hand experience working on the iPhone and the iPhone applications. There's so much more to the iPhone than it's pretty face. Free Ringtones for the iPhone How to Work Around Apples Fee

The ultimate in mobile phone customization is the creation and utilization of mobile ringtones. This has become increasingly popular among iPhone and iPhone 3g users mainly because users create ringtones based off of their existing library. The popular iPhone by Apple, has a built-in music library known as iTunes which allows users to download music and video files via their computer or the internet. Once the files are in the iTunes music library, users can then create personal ringtones using whatever song or sound file they wish.

But here is where it gets tricky! iTunes requires users to purchase the ringtone sequence even if they already own the song. So how is it possible to get free ringtones? Well to solve that problem there are two fairly well-known applications that are used, iToner and iPhoneRingtoneMaker. iToner is a ringtone manager for Mac users, while iPhoneRingtoneMaker is run using Windows. Both applications cost $15, hopefully less than the amount of ringtones users are planning on uploading. According to a recent article posted by Wired on September 12, 2008, the most recent iTunes update appeared to have crippled iPhoneRingtoneMaker for some users however, iToner seemed to remain functional.

Aside from purchasing those applications, users can still pay a single dollar and avoid the entire headache associated with trying to get free ringtones. With that said, it has been my experience that many users find it difficult to set their desired ringtones. A simple step by step guide can be found in AppCraver’s troubleshooting section with information on how to create ringtones on the iPhone.

If you feel that paying a dollar per ringtone just isn’t cutting it, check for updates on AppCraver to see if current applications still work or to find new applications that will let users create free ringtones.

Discover The iPhone Technology

In order to discover the wonders of iPhone technology, one must sink into its different parts and features, although in this edition, there are top 5 iPhone facts that one must be aware of, from the release to the different applications it supports. Some might find it to be an advantage and some, a disadvantage.

Either way, good or bad, here are some of the facts you need to know.

Supports video generating websites

Mobile phones were considered as a means of communication in the past times. Text messaging was then the single most important use of a cell phone and was one of the main features of mobile manufacturers. Today, the youth seem to convey the importance of having a mobile phone which can browse and even stream music videos and movies from their source.

On the other hand, while some are very well satisfied with the performance of the device in terms of surfing through the net and checking out important e-mails, others are still unconvinced on the matters of its connectivity edge via Wi-Fi because of the precaution that access will not be as smooth as expected.

Supports iTunes

Apple has accomplished this very vital part of human's melodic life. Many people purchasing the phone had the sole reason of having one because of the musical features. Other phone manufacturers have tried putting up a model that will sufficiently feature downloading songs the easy way. There are a lot of struggles done in order to put up with the idea of organizing a multimedia management through phones basing from multimedia order. Technically, iPhone has successfully done its part in managing this kind of predicament and has filled up files with top rating contents of the multimedia field.

Interface based on the user

Mac OS X is a kind of user interface which is primarily featured by Apple. Although, it has been easier for competitors to replicate the idea. Apple has decided not to open to developers belonging from a third party. The downfall of those who replicates the idea of having user interface is that it becomes a hassle instead of an advantage because of slow loading and sometimes, it never gets to the loading part at all.

Screen display

The display is always considered as Apple’s pride. The phone’s display is about 3.5 inches with a 320 x 480 pixels display. The touch screen feature made it impossible for other competitors to beat Apple from the point of view of market value and capability of mobile phones. Upgrading surface display to a high quality optical glass from plastic is one of the major factors why the device has become more scratch-proof. The more reason why people love it compared to other devices.

Release reviews

There are many complaints regarding the release of the device. Although, this didn’t stop the manufacturer to introduce it to the technological world. It has a retail price of $499 that is tagged for the 4 GB storage and $599 for the 8 GB storage. The contract was signed for AT&T for two years. Compared to other phones that has already been released and made ground breaking moments through the communication world, the price tag was quite reasonable and has proven its worth.

It has become record-breaking that Apple reached its mark and was well-appreciated by advocates around the world.

Announcement of Latest Apple Iphone Mobile Phones

Wednesday, October 01, 2008

With the announcement of Apple about its iPhone at the Macworld 2007, a whole lot of discussion started in the tech savvy world. People were eager to extract detailed information about the function and features of this new generation device. Now, shroud has been unwrapped. This lovely device is sleek in appearance with top-notch video and music features. The innovative touchscreen is easy to handle and its multi-media has relishing quality. The iPhone has a marvelous display with trim profile and no external antenna. It measures 115mm long x 61mm wide x 12mm deep. To compare, it is wide and tall like Palm Treo 750, but much thinner than the popular Motorola RAZR. Its display is of glass instead of plastic, very handy to fit our hand. The iPhone handset’s display is noteworthy; it does not only take full advantage of the large size (3.5 inches) but also translates it into superb colors, crisp graphics and smooth movements. True to Apple’s style, the iPhone’s menu is user friendly, and attractive. Series of colored images are visible in the main menu, important features like camera, calendar and setting are placed on the top and mail folder, phone menu, iPod player, and Safari Web browser sits at the bottom of the screen. Smooth animation helps in quick shift from one function to the other. Depending on one’s requirement the touchscreen quickly transforms into a keyboard, number keypad, Safari browser, and video or music player. The iPhone is gaining popularity for its multi-touch technology, this allows finger to manipulate the screen in variety of ways. If looking at a message, you can easily amplify the text by pushing and holding over a particular area. Just move the text without lifting the finger and whole text will appear in a magnified way. In the same way, zoom in and zoom out can be performed by just putting and lifting of the finger. Likewise, in the Web browser, one can scroll the Web page by just slipping the finger, or double tap for zoom. When viewing your message list and want to delete some items, just swipe the finger from left to right throughout the message. A ‘delete’ button will come out – press it. Thanks to the iPhone’s motion sensor, it automatically adjusts the handset’s display orientation when one flips it on its side while exploiting its Internet browser and video or music players. The moment one lifts the iPhone to the ear, its proximity sensor automatically switch off the display. One of the best exterior features of iPhone is its ‘hardware menu button’. The moment you push it, it takes you back to the home screen, regardless of any applications. This single button saves you from multiple menu taps, if you are sank in secondary menu. On the top of the handset is the call controlling button, just one tap will mute the ringer, or double tap to send the call to the voicemail. This top button can also be used to put your phone asleep. So, if you are looking for an expensive latest gadget, it is nice to have iPhone. After waiting for a very long time for the launch of iPhone in Australia, it is finally here for all, but we all look forward to the days of a cheap iphone.
